FAQs

1. Q How often should I get a skin care treatment (facial)?
A: Once a month is ideal. Your skin is producing oil, and not to mention there is an abundance of dead skin cells that are constantly building up on your skin’s surface, this can cause the skin to look “dull” and “lifeless”. A skin care treatment once a month will help keep that healthy glow that everyone strives for. My recommendation for the first timer: The Comfort Zone facial. It’s a great seque to the facial world.
2. Q How do I fight a dehydrated skin?
A: Drink water. About half your weight in water every day. Protect your skin from those harmful UV rays by wearing sun block and hats. Choose a moisturizer with immediate hydration. Providing immediate moisture to the epidermis (the top layer) of skin. and one that will hold water in the skin. Ingredients such as lipids, Aloe Vera, marine and botanical extracts. A good Aesthetician is trained to what will best suit your needs and will help you find a solution to your skin challenges.
3. What spf (sun protection factor) should I use on my face?
A: At at least a spf 15+ every day. If the Weather is a bit cloudy and damp, a 15 should be fine. On sunny, bright days, (typical Colorado) a spf 20 to 30 is recommended. I recommend Chae’ Organic 25 spf Titanium Dioxide sun block. It’s chemical free and light on the skin, not to mention it smells yummie!
4. Can I wear makeup after my facial?
I encourage clients to wear minimal to no makeup after a facial. This will allow the skin to continue to respond treatment without disruption. However, if you must, apply just a small amount of mineral makeup, lip gloss and mascara
5. Should I shave right before my facial?
I recommend a man shaving one to two days prior to his facial. This will limit sensitivity and ingrown hairs after the facial is done.
6. How do I maintain the great look and feel of my skin after a facial?
I encourage clients to pamper their skin every morning and night. By this, I mean cleansing, toning, moisture and sunscreen. Also to exfoliate the skin 2-5 times a week and applying a mask once a week at home. Maintaining the 4 week professional treatments will keep your skin well balanced, will encourage cellular turnover and will maintain your healthy glow. I also suggest eating a balanced diet low in sugar and fat and getting plenty of exercise and rest!
